The government funds 20 ECE hours for children aged 3 years and over up to the age of 6, for up to 6 hours per day, to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
These hours are not income tested and all children in New Zealand are eligible for these hours.
RELATIONSHIP BASED LEARNING
Key teachers:
Each child has the opportunity to build a strong, reciprocal relationship with a `Key’ teacher. The key teacher is the person who will support your child to settle into the preschool and to build relationships with their peers and other teachers.
Individual and group learning programmes, and experiences are beautifully documented within individual learning journals, and are also available to parents, family and whānau online via Storypark.
Place based education within our local community.
CONTINUITY OF CARE
Omanu School:
Being located next door to Omanu School gives us the added benefit of forging a close relationship with our local school.
Weekly our 4 year old tamariki are invited to join in with the Omanu School junior waiata and we are also invited to participate in different school activities such as watching the cross country and participating in the preschool race.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
Emergency management plan
In the event of an emergency we have a comprehensive plan for different types of emergencies.
We also have emergency information for parents and caregivers so you know what actions we will take.
